Tulle and Olly Murs

I woke up this morning to a beautiful day and on a mission to get some fabric. So after dropping Es at preschool I headed for our local fent shop. There is something about clear, crisp days and the start of spring combined with the right music, that revives the youth in me and today Olly Murs song 'Dance with me tonight' did the trick (do listen to this link). Music has this magic gift to bring back memories from the archives and the power to enrich the soul like little else. We recently purchased this album as Josh is getting into grown up music and his first CD was the Red Hot Chili Peppers, not bad taste, but then it is my favourite band so I might just be slightly biased! Olly's album is a great upbeat album and one the whole family loves.

I bought some fabric for a little dress I hope to make for Es, and also mountains of Tulle, which I look forward to playing with. Some green felt and fleece for a Peter Pan outfit for Josh, oh the joys of parties. Do you get as carried away with parties?

.

Don't you just love this Rectella fabric, which was a fabric remnant I purchased off Ebay for a bargain, unfortunately there wasn't really enough for the job, but I made it fit today (just) by making this little undersink curtain for the utility room. It certainly lacks body, but it does the job.

And this is my little bookworm finishing Dick Whittington over breakfast having started it late last night. I just love how a child's reading develops and how they become so independent with it. It's one of my little joys in life.

Wishing you a marvelous Monday!

  1. Nice fabric, will look forward to seeing the dress that you make. Parties - yes, I do get a little carried away sometimes, nothing wrong with that.

    1. I am sure it will be interesting as dressmaking is certainly NOT my forte. No, defo nothing wrong with getting carried away for parties. I do however find myself asking 'why am I doing that' but at least I know the answer...well I think so anyway. xxx
