Life is like a mirror,

...we get the best results when we smile at it

I had such a rough weekend and felt a little disappointed that I couldn't go to the Christmas lights switch on or Treacle Market for that matter, but these little things have kept me smiling:

1) Pretty fairy lights
2) Having afternoon tea with the kids in front of the fire on Friday afternoon after school
3) Finishing off little lavender hearts
4) Getting out all the things that I have been working on over the last three months, some of which I will be selling on Friday night and feeling a real sense of achievement.
5) Enjoying a few of my Christmas makes

Lastly, and most certainly not the least is reading all your lovely comments on my blog, you honestly have no idea how much it cheers me up. Thank you to everyone 'you are my sunshine....'

 I really like this saying:

A smile is a curve that sets everything straight.  ~Phyllis Diller
Sending much love your way.
Warm Wishes
Hannapat

  2. Oh sweet I'm so sorry you had a rough weekend. It's so hard when you can't plan these things....they usually happen at the worst times. I am glad you can find joy in the small things. I hope you feel better as the week goes on. I just read your comment on my post....I haven't counted my frock collection, I think I'd die at the total figure. It is an obsession! And yet I still have those "I have nothing to wear" days! I'll be so glad when I can stop thinking & eating "fat" tomorrow. I think the best way to gauge a reaction is to eat the bad stuff, but 100grams is a LOT! Much love & take care of you during this busy season. Xx

You have done an amazing job with all of your makes and I do so hope that the sale goes really well for you. Your living room and the woodburner are beautiful, so cozy up there until Friday and keep safe. Take care. xx

  5. Like a mirror, indeed...glad to hear (and see) that you made the best of a bummer weekend (I had a week like that, last week, too!). Love it all, up there - the hearts are beautiful...the nutcracker is a jolly looking guy, and those deer at the bottom brought a grin - LOVE their ears! Hope this week is much better for you (will definitely link up on Friday - thanks for the hint). HAPPY THANKSGIVING, HANNAHPAT!

  13. I do hope everything is brighter again after your rough weekend lovely, and I'm really wishing you the best for Friday night's excitement! You've made some beautiful goodies - those little hearts are so special - and the deer, how wonderful - seems to me you can turn your hand to anything and do an excellent job of it Hannapat! Please be sure to take pics of your stall before things start disappearing and off to new homes! Your home is so lovely and cosy and I'd love to say add another cup there, I'll be around in a minute! I too love those very meaningful words by Phyllis Diller - a smile can work wonders in so many situations!
Your outlook on life is amazing sweetheart - keep smiling!!! Much love, Joy xoxo

  14. Dearest Hannapat it made me sad reading your post - I was thinking about you last weekend because although I was away in Birmingham we were thinking of meeting up and I was so disappointed that I couldn't make it. I hope you are keeping yourself warm and cosy and most of all, not overdoing things which we all tend to do this time of the year. Your festive makes are gorgeous and like Joy I would love you to set another cup for me too! Big warm hugs to a special friend - always thinking of you

  16. So sorry to hear that you've been feeling poorly. I hope you feel better for your craft sale, you have made some gorgeous things. Your afternoon tea looks like a very good ideat o me. We call them carpet picnics here. The boys have always loved having them, and I found it a good way to get them to eat fruit and crudites that they would normally refuse.
Thank you for the wonderful comment that you left on my last post, Hannapat. I've been smiling from ear to ear since I read it. I have been thinking of doing a photography course - maybe that's where my arty pretentions lay!
Take care of yourself. Hunker down by that lovely wood burner with you and yours.
