CAL - A crochet snood

Joining in today with the lovely Chrissie and Marianne for their weekly 'Blooming Crochet-A-Long'. This week I have been working this lovely 'Classic Snood' by Erika Knight in Drops Big Delight Autumn Forest.

I originally bought this yarn with another pattern in mind, but having seen this Erika Knight pattern done by Chrissie, I just had to give it a go.

I am working it the full length, so it's quite long, but perfect for wrapping around twice, which is exactly the way I like to wear my snoods. This yarn is a dream to work with and I love these gorgeous autumnal colours, aren't they just beautiful?! Especially against this lovely Poinsettia, which my darling other half brought for me this week.

All I have left to do now is to join it together, so hopefully this will happened tonight or possibly tomorrow. If you're interested in this pattern, you can find it in this lovely book.

I have also managed to finish the crochet edgings on the tea towels that I have made, and I am really happy with them all. 'What a difference a day crochet edge makes'.

Thank you for all your very kind comments about my sleeping bunnies, I had such fun making them and can't wait to make some more.

I will be back tomorrow with my Weekly Bake, but for now I am off to have a look at what everyone have been hooking this week.

Warm Wishes
Hannapat
xoxo

  1. Hello Hannapat, your snood is gorgeous, such rich colours and so soft looking. Good luck with your sale, I hope all goes well.
Your bunnies in the previous post are adorable, I love all the fabrics you have used. Thank you for your kind comments on my blog. Yes the angel is a Tilda one, which I made from one of her Christmas books. If you are not familiar with Tilda, it is a Danish company owned by Tone Finanger (I think that's how you spell it), she is an amazing designer, I love all her stuff.
Have a wonderful weekend, and keep up the good work. Oh, and your crocheted edged teatowels are wonderful too. Love Linda x

  5. The colours on the snood are beautiful and very autumn-like. The crochet edge does make the tea towels look so pretty! Just lovely.
Also I just wanted to say a big thank you for the comment you left on my "confessions" post. It is a great comfort to know that I'm not alone in feeling the way I do about motherhood. xx

  6. Ah your snood is looking beautiful Hannapat, such lovely snuggly warm colours, and it sounds like you'll really be needing it over there. When I see the gorgeous warm accessories that you and others are making I feel like rushing into similar makes but then remind myself that it's the wrong time of year for me so best just keep doing things for 'now'! I am in danger of becoming confused! The sweet little edges on your tea towels really finish them off so nicely - well done! Is the school craft sale this weekend? All the very best with it anyway, and I'm sure it'll all be very successful - you really have put your heart and soul into your makings towards this fund-raiser and I applaud you for your generosity lovely! Lots of love, Joy xoxo

  7. I love Drops yarn - their stall at Yarndale was huge...could have bought the whole range. Now I'm going to have to add this to my long 'wanties' list. Those colours are gorgeous, I'd love a snuggly jumper in this. Your bunnies and tea towels have a very pretty vintage look - I love that. XX

  9. Just lovely! I am so in love with the tea towels and the crocheted edges. I never see such beautiful linens where I live and certainly not for tea towels. Even the fabric would be hard to purchase here. Do you make your own tea towels or can you buy them and then just add the trim? I do love the Fall and "Christmasey" colours of your snood. A blogging friend sent me a long long scarf one year and I loved it!

  15. Just catching up with your posts...the snood is looking gorgeous. I really love the colors of your yarn and the stitch pattern. And the tea towels are so pretty! I made flannel receiving blankets with a crocheted edge for my friend's new baby over the summer and I really loved the way they turned out. I definitely agree that a crocheted edging makes a huge difference. Well done.
