Teacher gifts

Today was largely spent finalising the last bits of the teacher gifts that will all be handed over tomorrow. They are all very simple, but I think it is so lovely to give the teachers something for being so very special and for doing such a wonderful job with our children.

A soap for each of little E's preschool teachers as she is fond of them all.

For Joshua's teacher, a card made by josh with lots of love hearts inside, I think it is so sweet to see just how much he likes his teacher. I covered a notebook in some fabric, with her name on it and packed a little soap and some Rhubarb and strawberry jam into a little bag for her. For his class room assistant and art teacher I packed a little bag with some soap and jam. These will all be gifted tomorrow when we attend the end of year concert, which I am really looking forward to.

It feels so strange to be nearing the end of an era with little E leaving preschool on Wednesday. Speaking of end of era's, every Monday little E sees her bestie, we alternate homes and fortunately today it was our turn and I have to say I felt so happy about this as I wanted to savour this moment. It was their very last long play date after preschool and I wanted some pics to look back on in years to come.

I am so fond of little E's bestie and although they will be in the same class at school, we won't enjoy these long play dates and girlie lunches together during the week. I have so enjoyed these with these two gorgeous little girls and right now I am feeling just a little choked up about it all. The idea of my baby starting school in September still needs a great deal of digesting before September calls by. Life seems to be flying by.

Back soon with pics of our little gathering.

Warm wishes
Hannapat xoxo

  1. Hannapat this was such a lovely post, brought tears to my eyes. The gifts are just so special, I adore the label and the book cover - did you embroider the name yourself - it is such a special gift and will be treasured I am sure. You are a very special lady Hannapat with a big heart and I am so glad that I have met you through the blog. Have a wonderful day tomorrow - I am going to Sue's sewing class on Thursday morning, wish you were coming too so I could say hello and have a chat. I shall remember you to Sue. Big hug and lots of love

  2. Hannapat, this is such a sweet and lovely post - I love all the makings and thoughtfulness that went into them, even the cute pinked labels!
Our children grow up so quickly - we long to see them reach various milestones (right from birth), and we celebrate as they attain each one, then all too soon they are 'all growed up'!!! Lovely but sad too, as you well know! And don't feel too sad on first day of real school when, like me over the years, you're sure to see more Mum's than children in tears!
Your little girl and her friend are so lovely together and this could well be a wonderful friendship that lasts throughout their lives - very special to watch develop as the school years proceed and move onwards!
I will be looking forward to your next pics! In the meantime, rejoice and enjoy the school holidays!

  5. I bet the teachers loved their pressies. Time certainly does fly - I remember sobbing my heart out when my big girl started school as if it were yesterday - she's in her final year of uni now! I love the pretty sheet on your clothesline. And that yellow submarine in an older post was awesome. Enjoy the hols, and all that lovely warm weather you've been having x

  7. Oh my goodness such beautiful and thoughtful presents.
It's quite hard that leap from pre-school to 'big' school. I remember feeling very sad, almost bereaved! But they loved school and that made me happy.
